- Clinical research on the treatment of obesity, diabetes and lipid metabolism as the principal investigator of numerous studies and clinical trials in phases 1, 2 and 3
- Nutritional Medicine
- Author of numerous original publications in high-ranked journals (In total more than 170, citations: more than 8.400, H-Index 44), as well as of books and book chapters
- Speaker at conferences and advanced training courses, more than 800 invited lectures since 1996
